Your new home has an existing home security system
Many times after you purchase a house, you’ll notice that the old owners didn’t take a security system. All the components work, are hung in the correct places, and are ready to go. In this example, all you may have to do is to call and start a new service contract. A Vivint expert will still show up to ensure there are no usability problems, and they might offer suggestions on upgrades. It's a quick appointment, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without paying for any new components -- unless you add on.
The outgoing homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal transfer cost to make the process easier. If the outgoing residents downsize to an apartment or retirement community, turning over the Vivint contract may be a part of the sale.
You want to move and take your existing components with you
You may want to bring along your existing Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. That’s fairly easy to transfer, as modern alarms and smart devices are plug and play. You can uninstall each alarm or camera by yourself or contact a professional expert to come and dismantle everything. Then our installers will set up the same devices -- and any new things you want -- in your new home. And your home security contract will stay the same.
